Nominations are now open for 2017 Board members.
Positions up for election are: President; Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, and Governance Officer (see below for more detail). Terms of office are for one year and successful candidates will take up their positions in February 2017.
To be eligible nominees must be:
- A member of SCB AND
- A student at UQ
President – responsible for organising and presiding over meetings, representing the Chapter on Chapter business, including representing the Chapter to the SCB.
Vice-President – receives reports from the Committees, arranges meetings and other activities, performs duties of the President when the latter is absent, and performs duties of the Governance Officer if the position is vacant.
Secretary – records meeting minutes, administers correspondence between the Chapter and SCB, oversees elections, and maintains historical records. Also maintains a roster of members.
Treasurer – collects dues, maintains accounts, collects and distributes funds for Chapter activities, organises applications for grants and other funding, and is responsible for ensuring compliance with SCB financial and fundraising guidelines (as per the Chapters Handbook) and, if affiliated, with the UQ Union audit guidelines.
Governance Officer – responsible for registering the Chapter with the SCB annually and coordinating the completion and submission of the Annual General Meeting pack to the UQ Union. Also ensures that all Chapter decisions and activities are in accordance with SCB Chapter Bylaws and with UQ Union Regulations.
